Writing review

 Hi bloggers,

Throughout the past couple of days, I have been researching and reading about dreams, for our literacy task this week we had to research a topic that's we had questions about then write a review on the topic. I chose dreams and dreams were are a very interesting topic to research with lot of information. Here is my questions and my review on dreams:

Questions

What do dreams have to do with our actual life?  scientists have noticed that people don’t usually dream about random things and that their dreams do usually have something to do with themselves and their lives.

  • There is something called lucid dreaming where you know that you are dreaming and you are incontrol of your dreams

Why do we have dreams we don’t remember?  Your hippocampus is the last thing in your brain to in your brain to go to sleep which is very likely its last to be awake, so you could have this part where you wake up with a dream in your short term memory, but since your hippocampus is not fully awake you can’t keep that memory anymore.

  • Some people don’t remember any dreams but it is most likely that they did but they forgot about it.

  • You easily recall a dream if you are awake at the right time

  • You are most likely to remember a dream in the REM stage of sleeping, which is usually when you have dreams.

How long do most dreams actually last? Dreams last anywhere between a few seconds and 20-40 minutes, if the dream is longer it is usually in the morning before you wake up.

  • According to the national sleep foundation The average person dreams 4-6 times per night.

Why do we have nightmares?  People usually have nightmares because of trauma, sleeping disorders, anxiety or even just a problem happening can trigger nightmares.

  • Usually nightmares happen on the last 3rd of the night.

  • research suggests as many as 71 percent people who’ve experienced trauma have regular nightmares.

Why do some of our dreams reoccur multiple times ?

Recurring dreams usually mean there is something in your life you don’t know that is causing stress of some sort. The dream repeats because you have not done anything to stop the problem. Another theory is that people who have recurring dreams have some sort of trauma in their past they are trying to deal with.

Review

Through the research I have found out how dreams are created and why certain things happen throughout your dream that you probably won’t know. Dreams can be very different each time and make a good topic to talk about.

Scientists have noticed that people don’t usually dream about random things and that their dreams do usually have something to do with themselves and their lives, which means most of the things you dream about you have probably come across.Random things may become boring sometime this is where lucid dreaming happens. Lucid dreaming is a dream that you can control and you know you are dreaming, so you are probably dreaming about things you have seen before.

We have at least 4-8 dreams a night that are anywhere from a few seconds to 40 minutes long. and most of those we don’t remember. We have dreams we don’t remember because your hippocampus is the last thing in your brain to go to sleep which is very likely its last to be awake. So you could have this part where you wake up with a dream in your short term memory, but since your hippocampus is not fully awake you can’t keep that memory anymore, which is why we don’t remember most dreams. Your dreams are easier to remember in the 3rd stage of REM sleep, REM sleep is Rapid eye movement and is when you are most likely to have all your dreams.

Throughout the years you have probably had a dream that has reoccured before, have you ever wondered why?. Recurring dreams usually mean there is something in your life you don’t know that is causing stress of some sort. The dream repeats because you have not done anything to stop the problem. Another theory is that people who have recurring dreams have some sort of trauma in their past they are trying to deal with.

People usually have nightmares in the last 3rd of the night. Most nightmares are caused by trauma, sleeping disorders, anxiety or even just a problem happening can trigger nightmares. Research suggests as many as 71 percent people who’ve experienced trauma have regular nightmares.

People have and see very different dreams because there are so many different dreams that you can have. Dreams are very interesting to research about, with lots of facts that can be very useful.
